    In Nov. 2023, four JMS students who are part of the student AAJA (Asian American Journalist Association) chapter approached Temple Northup, Director of the School of Journalism and Media Studies, with an idea. They wanted to go to Lahaina, Maui to cover the impact of the fires, as well as to serve.
