SDSU School of Communication Shines at NCA Convention
This year’s NCA convention featured SDSU prominently across the program. We are so proud of all of our faculty, students, and alumni for what they offer the communication discipline in a variety of ways.
Congratulations to recent MA alumna Khori Cranford, who received the Top Student Paper Award in the South West Asian/North African, Middle East Caucus.

Dr. Godfried Asante led the very first panel and business meeting of the new African Communication Division, a division he was instrumental in developing and getting approved through the NCA Legislative Assembly. Thank you for leading the way on that effort, Dr. Asante!

Dr. Yea-Wen Chen was honored with the Faculty Mentorship Award in the Asian/Pacific American Communication Studies Division and Asian/Pacific American Caucus. Many of us were there to celebrate with Dr. Chen!

Basic Course Director (and alumnus) Michael Rapp was recognized for his career achievements as Basic Course Director with the Don Yoder Distinguished Faculty Award in the Basic Course Division. Alumni and current grad students were in attendance to celebrate their mentor and friend, “Master Rapp!”

My heart was full as I interacted with many alumni of our program who were there presenting their research, supporting their own students, and being recognized with numerous awards. What a legacy of excellence in teaching and research!
