Outstanding Graduate Student: Tracy Bobko, School of Journalism and Media Studies
Tracy Bobko has been selected as the Outstanding Graduate Student of Learning, Design, and Technology from the School of Journalism and Media Studies. Bobko is an innovative and passionate student whose extensive research into the Edu-Metaverse is paving new pathways in K-12 education.
As an SDSU graduate student, Bobko excelled, and her research paper Exploring the Possibilities of Edu-Metaverse: A New 3D Ecosystem Model for Innovative Learning, was published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. This paper delved into different aspects of the metaverse and how they could be applied to education specifically with middle and high school students.
“My goal is to create educational curricula for integration in the Metaverse and assist schools in transitioning to Metaverse-based learning to align with the learning styles and preferences of the new generation of students,” said Bobko.
While studying at SDSU Bobko grew as a person as well. Learning to balance her studies with her personal life was a challenge that she gladly embraced, and through hard work, she was able to find strategies that suited her.
“Consistent hard work yields rewarding results, and pushing beyond your comfort zone leads to remarkable achievements,” said Bobko.
Moving forward Bobko hopes to see her fellow classmates excel in whatever their passions are so the class of 2024 can fix real-world problems and inspire generations to come.
