Dominika Bukalova joins SDSU’s Main Campus

The San Diego State University School of Public Administration is proud to welcome Dominika Bukalova to the main campus this year as an Assistant Professor. Bukalova is moving from San Diego State University, Imperial Valley.

Dominika’s research includes studies examining collaborative leadership, self-development, and self-awareness in leader development and public meeting participation and access.

Before joining the faculty, Dominika worked for over 11 years at the City of San Diego, where she served as chief of staff and director of policy in the offices of two council presidents, and in other policy and advisory roles. 

A certified leadership coach, Dominika has worked with private and public sector clients to provide strategic planning and leadership development services, which informs her approach to research, teaching, and student mentoring. 

Dominika earned her Ph.D. in leadership studies at the University of San Diego. She graduated from San Diego State University (M.A. in Political Science) and The George Washington University (B.A. in International Affairs and Political Science).
