Lieutenant Colonel Joshua M. Sider most recently served as a strategic plans officer in the J5 Directorate of Special Operations Command Central (SOCCENT). Prior to that, he served as a Battalion Operations Officer and Brigade Operations Officer in 3 rd Brigade Combat Team, 10 th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Fort Johnson, Louisiana.
He served as a staff officer and commanded Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) of 3d Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment and also served as a staff officer in the 75th Regimental Special Troops Battalion at Fort Moore, Georgia. He served as a staff officer and company commander in 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Fort Drum, New York and as a lieutenant in 2nd Battalion, 506 th Infantry Regiment, 4 th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
LTC Sider holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He deployed to Afghanistan five times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
