Bio
Raised in Southern California, Brandon is a lifelong learner and practitioner of cultural storytelling. He identifies as a queer Filipino American and first-generation graduate student who manifests joy through cooking, reading, writing, music, and drinking milk tea at cafes.
A proud PSFA alum, Brandon graduated from SDSU with Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Journalism with an Emphasis in Media Studies and a minor in Sociology. He then attended University of Southern California, where he earned his Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs. His intellectual curiosity led him to fruitful experiences as a former writing tutor, math tutor, PSFA College Council President, Counseling & Psychological Services intern, peer advisor in the School of Journalism and Media Studies, Graduate Assistant for USC's Asian Pacific American Student Services Center, and Interim Assistant Coordinator at SDSU's Pride Center.
Now, Brandon compassionately serves as an Academic Advisor in the School of Art and Design and advisor to PSFA College Council. As an emerging higher education professional and educator devoted to elevating minoritized and underrepresented communities through equity-minded service and advocacy, he has striven to create and hold space for students to grow their passions, intellect, and wellness practices. A proponent of holistic student development and equitable leadership practices, Brandon believes in the power of mentorship to sustain meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships. He holds immense gratitude for his mentors’ guidance and wisdom, which he intends to pay forward to new generations of thought leaders and scholars by cultivating a career grounded in radical kindness, community care, compassionate leadership, social justice, and intersectional community building.
