Outstanding Student: Halle Washington, School of Public Affairs
With a preserving and determined mindset, Criminal Justice major Halle Washington was able to find acceptance and grow from the success and challenges of her SDSU experience.
Looking back on her years as a student, Washington reflects “It's really rewarding when you know you put your all into something, regardless of the outcome. I think my challenges as a student have shown me how to navigate through tough times, but always bounce back.”
Washington’s dedication to her passion and drive to create change within the criminal justice system, has fed her ability to push through challenges and find the positive out of struggles.
“My academic journey has helped shape and advance these goals through the classes I’ve taken, the professors I’ve met, and also by realizing what my strengths are. SDSU has helped me realize my passion and what career path is meant for me,” she said.
Washington’s future goals are to create change in legal systems. “I want to leave my mark,” hoping to pursue a career in law or toward becoming a judge,” she said.
