Outstanding Student: Camila Saettone Cornejo, School of Theatre, Television and Film

Theatre arts major, Camila Saettone Cornejo, has been chosen as the theatre program’s 2023 Outstanding Student. After coming to the U.S. on her own five years ago, Camila can say “I have worked very hard to get to where I am now.”

Having performed in Uncaged Festival and Long Christmas Ride Home, Camila is continuing to venture into acting in theater in her career. She “explored the different aspects of a production such as design and management that made me confident in my ability to work within the industry and do whatever I’m asked to do professionally.”

Through her time at SDSU she has overcome and realized “experiences and opportunities won’t come to you. It is important to connect with people, seek and create your own acting opportunities. There’s always someone willing to help you or jump into the project with you. And the people at SDSU are always willing.”
