Thank you for a great SAEE national conference!

Using the thematic frame of “Empowering the ARTS!, the 2017 Society of Arts Entrepreneurship Educators national conference explores the concept from the viewpoint of students, next steps needed in the academy, perspectives from the professional world, and consideration of the link between arts entrepreneurship and cultural leadership.

This year’s conference again brings together university faculty members from across arts and business disciplines who all share a passion for developing the next generation of artistic leaders. We will gain insights from professionals whose work advances the arts, culture, and entertainment sectors. We also will engage students who wish to join in this important dialogue and learn more about making a fulfilling and sustainable career in the arts.

Traveling to San Diego

Conference Hotels

San Diego is a beautiful destination city offering a wide array of housing options for visitors. We encourage conference attendees to stay at a hotel near a trolley station to reduce expenses associated with car rental, parking, and taxi or ride sharing.

We would like to thank our colleagues from the Fowler College of Business, Lavin Entrepreneurship Center for their support.

Arts Alive SDSU

Arts Alive SDSU is a campus-wide strategic initiative, housed in the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts. The initiative provides opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage in transformational arts interactions as part of an art-rich, robust community on the campus. Recent activities include pop-up arts events at the Library Dome, Student Union, and SDSU farmer’s market. Curriculum innovations include collaborative courses that cross disciplines, giving students an arts perspective or approach within non-arts course content.
