Students Honored with Cash Prizes and Prominent Campus Art Placement

Provost's Award Winner: Phantoms in Moapa by Ashley Fenderson

The 19th annual Student Award Exhibition (SAE), an annual juried exhibition of upper division and graduate student artwork, was held this past March at the School of Art + Design. Nearly 40 faculty-nominated participants, representing all School of Art + Design disciplines, participated in the exhibition. Eleven talented winners took home cash awards and received the opportunity to display their artwork in public areas across campus as well as a local gallery.

Created in the spring of 1999, the SAE demonstrates the University’s support of artistic excellence and diversity in student artwork. Numerous schools, colleges, and departments across the University participate in the SAE by reviewing submitted art work and purchasing a piece to display in their public space. Winning an SAE award endows students a great sense of pride and accomplishment. The monetary prizes helps students continue and/or pursue new, creative artistic endeavors.
