What made you want to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice (CJ)?

Growing up I loved watching true crime shows like forensic files, 48 hours, nightmare next door, etc. Watching these shows sparked an interest in becoming a detective and majoring in criminal justice.

Why did you decide to serve as a peer adviser?

As a first generation student in college, I heavily relied on the advising team to help me navigate the college experience and I wanted to pay it forward and give that same support to others who need it.

What does being a part of the SDSU community mean to you?

Being part of the SDSU community means feeling like you have a support system or knowing that everyone there is rooting for your success and is willing to help you with anything you need.

What advice would you give to students in the CJ or the School of Public Affairs (SPA) as they continue their studies and careers? *

I strongly recommend everyone to start looking for connections to the career you are working towards! We have plenty of professors who have experience in the professional world who would be happy to help you start getting connected to outside resources.

What is your favorite place on campus?

My favorite place on campus has to be Campanile Park! It is a great place to just lay down and relax with some music if you are ever looking for a place to chill during gaps in your schedule.

What do you like to do outside of SDSU?

I love doing arts and crafts, I like doing embroidery, bracelets, painting, or anything that will keep my hands busy and my creative juices flowing.

What is one thing that fellow SPA students may not know about you?

I am a movie enthusiast but I have never seen any of the Harry Potter, Twilight, or Star Wars movies.
