The PSFA International Studies Minor

Open to any major in the University, the International Studies Minor is particularly valuable for any student seeking a career involving global awareness. The minor provides an international experience for students and enhances the experience by providing a process and context for critical awareness/ comparison, self-reflection, and specific professional skills for the future. Students who have completed the capstone requirements for the minor have traveled to and conducted research in locales such as Spain, Germany, China, Italy, Japan, Korea, France and Singapore. “I learned many things from the study abroad experience and the research that I performed for the international studies minor. Through watching how others behave, asking questions, and conducting interviews with people from other counties I became a global citizen.”—Luis Gutierrez

“This comparative project was helpful in enabling me to gain a greater perspective on how different countries with different cultures handle the same topic.”

—Kerri Drumhiller
