The School provides quality education at the undergraduate
and graduate levels for students seeking careers in all areas
of theatre and media, and supports the University's central
mission to educate the whole person in the liberal arts tradition
and foster academic and creative
interaction between established and emerging artists on campus
and off.
Theatre: The School is specifically geared to assist students in their efforts to seek professional work in various fields of theatre and media, to seek teaching positions at all levels, and to contribute to the cultural life of the community.
The program offers:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts with emphases in Children's Drama,
Design and Technology for the Theatre, Design for Television and Film,
and Performance.
- Master of Arts degree
- Master of Fine Arts degrees in Musical Theatre and Design and Technical Theatre
Television, Film and New Media Production
- The Bachelor of Science in Television, Film and New Media Production (TFM) is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers in television, film, and new media production, distribution, and management in a rapidly evolving technological environment. The degree also serves those in occupations requiring extensive knowledge of media message design and various distribution systems.
- The program focuses on the skills needed by producers, directors, cinematographers, videographers, sound designers, editors, art directors, production assistants and writers, as well as leading edge design and production careers in new media.
- The Master of Arts degree in Television Film and New Media Production is also offered. The Television, Film and New Media Production major is an impacted program.
