The School of Communication at SDSU engages in teaching, research,
and development of integrated, interactive, international,
and intercultural communication for the twenty-first century.
Its mission is to be a leader in advancing the theory and
understanding of human communication and improving the practice
of human communication; to study and teach the art, science,
and practice of communication; and to provide an educational
environment encouraging excellence, leadership, and creativity
in communication scholarship and professional excellence.
Students may take courses and participate in debate and forensics.
Graduates have found positions in such occupations as sales,
human resources, training, education, and consulting, or have
pursued advanced academic degrees. The School offers the following
degree programs:
- Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with an emphasis
in general communication
- Master of Arts in Communication with
a specialization in Communication Studies
