PSFA, Fisch and Axelrod launch public forum series

For several years San Diego attorney Joseph Fisch wanted to initiate a series of town-hall-type evenings at which knowledgeable speakers would present divergent views on a wide range of current issues. This year he realized that dream by joining forces with the School of Public Administration to sponsor a series called Current Issues Forum of San Diego.

Forums this academic year have focused on Social Security reform, the “Three Strikes Law,” drug policy alternatives, and assisted suicide.

“Those forums served as trial balloons for us to gauge San Diegans’ interest in discussing important current issues,” said PSFA Dean Joyce Gattas. “Due to their success as well as the financial support of Joe Fisch and Joyce Axelrod, we officially launched the series this spring,” Gattas added.

According Fisch, “The list of upcoming topics is quite exciting and, through the university's contacts, we will be able to bring to San Diego highly respected experts on each subject."

If you would like to be informed about future forums, please send an e-mail to CIFSD@mail.sdsu.edu or call (619) 594-3095.
