Rich Underwood
is a part-time faculty member at SDSU teaching Advanced Cinematography in the School of Theatre, Television & Film, but for more than 20 years he has been shooting and directing award-winning commercials.  In the February issue of DV (Digital Video) Magazine he chronicles his role as director of photography in the soon to be aired reality television show, Bluff.   Underwood’s article, High Stakes and High Def, written as a cover story, gives a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to shoot an entire season of shows on two ships during two 7-day cruises

He is also currently working on a book, Roll! News Shooting Techniques, Ethics & the Video Journalist’s Intuition, which is scheduled for publication in early 2007 by Focal Press, a leading Media Technology book publisher.  The book is written for news camera people, photojournalists, and video journalists of all levels who want to be competitive in their field and also deepen their news shooting skills through the best practices of others
