Private support is essential in order to continue providing PSFA’s long tradition of excellence. SDSU receives only 35 percent of its total resources from the State. Tuition accounts for 17% of our budget, with the remainder being funded by sponsored research, university enterprises and, most importantly, gifts from foundations, corporations, and individuals like you.
Private support within PSFA is centered on enhancing on-campus experience of our students. Each School and Department within PSFA has identified specific priorities that best support their individual goals and objectives. As a College, PSFA provides support through the privately funded PSFA Fund for Excellence.
PSFA Fund for Excellence
The PSFA Fund for Excellence provides unrestricted funds to support the most urgent needs of the college. Donors have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of deserving students through a contribution to the Fund for Excellence.
Donations to the Fund for Excellence have been used to support the following:
- Scholarship opportunities
- Facilitating student and faculty research
- Collaborative programs in the community
- Providing international study opportunities for students
- State of the art teaching materials and equipment
- Student participation in conferences and competitions
- Support for community, public and private sector internship programs
- Support for alumni communications and activities
