The keynote speaker and alumna of the year was Cupcake Brown, attorney with Bingham McCutchen law firm in San Francisco.

Brown, was recognized for her outstanding achievements, including her courage and strength. As an orphan, Ms. Brown was forced to depend on herself, living a harsh life on the streets. However, through sheer will and determination, she overcame numerous obstacles, graduating from SDSU in criminal justice with distinction. She subsequently went on to earn her law degree from the University of San Francisco. In addition to practicing law, she is a motivational speaker whose story of success has received national recognition.
