PSFA STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN “BENCHMARK PROJECT”
During this year’s Super Bowl in San Diego, visitors and residents alike were enchanted with a creative and whimsical celebration of public art called the “Benchmark Project”. More than 50 benches were situated throughout San Diego from Balboa Park to Coronado, from the Gaslamp Quarter to Hillcrest and Little Italy. Graphic design students from our School of Art, Design and Art History created a bench showing the process of a graphic design project from beginning to end, from blueprint on unfinished wood to a colorful finished product. American Institute of Graphic Artists student member Jason Antony, who constructed the bench commented: “We wanted the students of SDSU graphic design to make their own statement in the community.”
