
Donald R. Martin, Ph.D.

Donald R. Martin is Associate Dean of San Diego State University’s
College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts. In this capacity
he represents the Dean of the College as needed and assumes
responsibility for the daily administration of this diverse
College. Prior to holding this position, he was Interim Director
of SDSU’s School of Communication. Dr. Martin rejoined
the SDSU faculty in 1993 after spending sixteen years in
various senior management positions at KPBS, San Diego's
public television
station. His last position at KPBS was Telecommunications
Manager where he directed the development of a number of
revenue producing educational telecommunications services
such as
national videoconferencing production, distant learning,
and multi-point data transmission. Prior to joining KPBS
Dr. Martin
was SDSU's Instructional Television Coordinator and a member
of the faculty of the former Department of Telecommunications
and Film. Before coming to San Diego, he held faculty positions
and managed the educational radio stations at California
Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and Ohio Wesleyan
University.
Dr.
Martin holds a Ph.D. from the Ohio State University, a M.S.
from Syracuse University, and an A.B. from Otterbein
College.
