Theatre Major to Attend Brown University to seek MFA in Acting

Jotae Fraser

Ralston Jotae Fraser, graduate of the SDSU Theatre Arts program, is an aspiring actor, writer, and director. While at SDSU, he had the opportunity to direct the first act of a play, which he had not yet done previously. Passionate about the play’s (By the Way Meet Vera Stark by Lynn Nottage) commentary on racial stereotypes portrayed in Hollywood, Fraser is committed to help to correct the disparity.

Fraser studied abroad in the United Kingdom, where he was able to learn more about Shakespeare and the history of England. He came away from the experience with a more thorough understanding of how each culture has its own ideologies about cultural representation, and that the world is full of beautiful human beings.

From here, Fraser will attend Brown University/Trinity Rep in Fall of 2017 to pursue an MFA in Acting. His future goals are to purvey change through artistry as an actor, writer, and director in theatre and film and make a difference both nationally and internationally.
